Neat Ice Kit & Highball App
I have always been interested in cooking, the mixing of disparate ingredients to make something new. While at a former design studio, I created a visual system for mixed cocktails that we would have during team happy hours each Friday afternoon. Within that system, I created a bespoke display typeface called “El Bloque” and illustration style to highlight the various ingredients used in each of the drinks.
Somehow, the team at Studio Neat found my work and asked if I would partner with them to create drink cards for an upcoming product launch highlighting home mixology and high quality ice. I was able to help design for them the shipping box, the labeling system for each of the kits offered, a small welcome booklet, some product illustrations, and a trio of drink recipe cards to get the project backers started on making drinks with their new kits.
After the success of the Neat Ice Kit, the team at Studio Neat reached out again to build their library of assets that would become the Highball app. Again, the focus being on home mixology, and the social aspects of the culture. We developed illustrations across a number of vessel types, with different ice configurations, as well as ingredients. Each of these elements were then used to make the Highball app customizable, and shareable.
